Animals Do Feel Pain

I know it has been awhile since my last post. In order to post updates on a regular basis, I have decided to put myself on a schedule. Otherwise the time will just slip by so quickly, faster than you can say, one week since my last post.

Anyway, here is what's happening in the story. A female elephant got caught in a poacher's trap. The trap tore through her tough skin leaving her lying flat on her side. A large bull elephant who appeared to be her husband walked around her trying to pull her up not wanting to accept the fate of his companion. Whilst he walked around her he was crying because you could see streams of water running down the sides of his face. He was obviously sad at the sight of his fallen companion. This serves as proof that animals do feel pain just like we humans do. From the current reading, Travels with Gannon and Wyatt.

Update On The Book Reading

At this point in the book. Everyone has gone in search of a lioness and her cubs. They are trying to find her before the poachers can get to her. If the poachers find her first, they will kill the lioness and her cubs.

Also, everyone is sleeping in tents out in Okavango Delta, Botswana. At night it is so black that you can not see your own hand in front of you. The animals get really active at this time and walk about even near the tents where they are all sleeping. Before heading off to sleep they write in their journals while all this is going on. They write with dis-ease because they know that at any time they could be killed by any one of these great beasts.

From the book "Travels with Gannon and Wyatt"

"Everyone sees things differently. That's why if you sent ten people on the same trip, you'd probably hear ten different stories when they got back. Everyone has different interests and different opinions about things." - by Gannon

From the book "Travels with Gannon and Wyatt"

"TRAVELER'S NOTE: When you arrive in a new place, it's not always a good idea to walk around and talk to people on your own. Some places, to be honest, are downright dangerous, and you could end up in a lot of trouble if you venture into the streets by yourself. It's always smart to research your destination before you travel. If you take the time to educate yourself, you will know which destinations are safe to explore and which ones are not." - by Gannon

Travels with Gannon and Wyatt

The next book I've chosen to read is a book called "Travels with Gannon and Wyatt." It is written by Patti Wheeler and Keith Hemstreet. It is an adventure book for teens. The setting is in beautiful Africa. It should be exciting. I'll keep you posted.

Update on the book "One Day"

Wow! A lot has happened in this book. I am almost finished with reading it. As soon as I'm done reading it, I will write my review. I will tell you what the book is about and what I liked and did not like about this book. At this point I can tell you that there are some things about these two characters, Dexter and Emma, that I would not do. I will keep you posted.
